Around 2015 India was becoming an increasingly demonetized society. It was common for families and groups of people to share telecommunications plans and add money as they required according to their use. Minutes were exchanged as a form of payment and being aware of expenses was crucial. MyAirtel App is a native, personal, and family account management mobile application for Airtel customers.

Airtel sums about 303.08 million subscribers worldwide—264.58 million in India.

Leading with agility

Airtel's information architecture and app map were colossal, with several selling points, self-care features and dashboards and tools to pay, recharge and send money. We had to cover all services provided from internet, phone, TV, and special offers as cross-selling items.

During this engagement, I led a team of 10 designers and we had to build a digital transformation experience for MyAirtel app in 6 months.

Send money quickly.

It is common in India to send money to people, being those family members or friends. It is a common fairly daily routine. One of the strategies to reduce the time when performing this action was to provide an intelligent slider that would explore the full potential of the mobile device. Recurring values could be set and saved along with a message.

Award-winner experience

Only part of the proposed vision and delivered work was implemented. Back then, the investment for the technological update was greater than anticipated, which meant that only crucial features and core experiences were implemented and still running today.
